上海爱乐乐团是在原上海广播交响乐团基础上组建起来的职业交响乐团。上海广播交响乐团的前身是成立于1954年的上海电影乐团和成立于1950年的上海广播乐团,两团曾经分别为中国的电影和广播电视的发展做出过重大贡献。


1996年,上海电影乐团与上海广播乐团合并组成上海广播交响乐团,在胡咏言担任音乐总监期间,乐团有了长足的发展和提高,完成向职业交响乐团的嬗变。2004年4月,乐团正式更名为上海爱乐乐团,由著名指挥家陈佐湟先生出任艺术总监,开始实行国际化音乐季管理模式。2008年1月青年指挥家张亮担任乐团常任指挥。2009年3月著名指挥家汤沐海先生接任艺术总监,开启乐团新的历程。经过多年的努力,上海爱乐乐团目前已跻身中国最优秀交响乐团的行列。


多年来,乐团一贯注重自身的艺术品位与艺术水平的提高,曾先后邀请了黄晓同、卞祖善、余隆、陈燮阳、黄胤灵、水蓝、谭利华、张国勇、张艺、赵晓鸥、斯特恩、帕尔曼、阿什肯纳奇、格拉夫、帕瓦罗蒂、多明戈、卡雷拉斯、杰西·诺曼、久石让、弗拉基米尔·克莱涅夫、马友友、塔马斯·瓦萨里、鲍里斯·贝尔曼、大卫·莱弗利、彼得·弗朗克尔、伊蒂儿·比芮、奥克萨娜·雅布隆斯卡娅、陈宏宽、保罗·巴杜拉-斯柯达、罗伯特·布洛克尔、李坚、谭盾、郎朗、李云迪、廖昌永、黄英、沈洋、许忠、秦立巍、薛伟、黄蒙拉、王之炅、宋思衡等众多的中外著名音乐家一起举行过成功的音乐会。

为适应当今广大观众日趋多样而增长的文化需求,乐团努力拓展多方位的业务领域,逐步形成了自身多元多样的业务特色。多年来,不仅演出了歌剧《托斯卡》、《蝴蝶夫人》、《波西米亚人》、《茶》、《塞维利亚理发师》、《蓝胡子公爵的城堡》、《佩利亚斯与梅里桑德》等剧目,还曾与英国皇家芭蕾舞团、法国巴黎歌剧院芭蕾舞团, 俄罗斯圣·彼得堡马林斯基剧院芭蕾舞团、澳大利亚国家芭蕾舞团、比利时弗兰德斯皇家芭蕾舞团等多个世界著名的芭蕾舞团合作,演出过《天鹅湖》、《睡美人》、《吉赛尔》、《胡桃夹子》、《葛蓓莉亚》、《仲夏夜之梦》、《灰姑娘》、《罗密欧与朱丽叶》等多部著名芭蕾舞剧;同时,乐团还推出了大型交响京剧《大唐贵妃》、越剧《红楼梦》以及交响剧场《上海方舟》等一批样式创新,内容别具一格的节目,展现了乐团的雄厚实力,深受各界观众的喜爱。


乐团一贯重视和支持我国民族音乐(尤其是交响乐)的创作,不仅首演了吕其明、许舒亚、葛甘孺、叶国辉、刘湲、王强、秦毅等一大批老中青华人作曲家的作品,还举行了吕其明、黄准、杨立青、陈其钢、谭盾、周龙与陈怡、金复载、葛甘孺、郭祖荣、龚天鹏等作曲家的个人作品专场,以及原创歌剧《一江春水》、《野火春风斗古城》等的世界首演,为推广和传播我国的音乐创作不遗余力。


除本国演出以外,乐团还经常参加国际性的音乐盛事或交流演出。1997年乐团成功出访韩国、意大利、瑞士、法国;2001年赴港澳地区演出;2005年赴新加坡;2006年、2014年两度赴台湾地区进行巡回演出;2009年赴澳大利亚巡演;2010年赴瑞士,斯洛伐克,匈牙利巡演;2016年两度赴韩国水原、釜山演出,均获得广泛赞誉。


上海爱乐乐团还积极投身于上海公共文化建设、进行交响乐普及工作,开展高雅艺术进社区、进校园的活动。最近,上海爱乐乐团先后与美国费城交响乐团、上海东方艺术中心签署了战略合作协议,期望全面提升乐团在艺术、管理和服务等方面的综合能力,为上海国际文化大都市的建设、为繁荣和发展上海乃至中国交响乐事业做出更大贡献。



Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra


The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra is a highly professional symphony orchestra developed from the Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. The former of Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra is Shanghai Film Orchestra which was established in 1954 and Shanghai Broadcasting Orchestra which was established in 1950, which had both made great contributions to the development of Chinese film and broadcasting industry.

 

In 1996, Shanghai Film Orchestra and Shanghai Broadcasting Orchestra consolidated to form Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra (SBSO) and it made great progress and development leading by the former Music Director Yongyan Hu.


The name of the orchestra was officially changed to the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra in April of 2004 with famous conductor Zuohuang Chen as its Music Director, adopting the world’s most prevalent system of music seasons. In January of 2008, youthful conductor Liang Zhang has assumed the position of conductor of the orchestra.In March of 2009, the famous conductor Muhai Tang has taken over as music director of the orchestra. With several years’ efforts, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has now become one of the very best orchestras in China.


The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra pays a great deal of attention to the improvement of artistic taste and skill. The SPO has been involved in collaborations with quite a few renowned musicians both from home and abroad, such as Xiaotong Huang,Zushan Bian, Long Yu, Yinling Huang, Lan Shui, Lihua Tan, Guoyong Zhang,Yi Zhang,Xiaoou Zhao, Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Peter-Lukas Graf, Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Jessye Norman, Joe Hisaishi, M.G. Mola, Yo-yo Ma, Támás Vásáry, Boris Berman,David Lively,Peter Frankl, Idil Biret, Oxana Yablonskaya,Hung-kuan Chen,Paul Badura-Skoda,Robert Blocker,Jian Li,Dun Tan, Lang Lang, Yundi Li,Changyong Liao, Ying Huang,Yang Shen, Zhong Xu,Liwei Qin,Wei Xue,MenglaHuang, Zhijiong Wang and Siheng Song spanning a number of exciting concerts.

 

In recent years, The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has performanced several master pieces such as  China premiere for the Violin Concerto of Benjamin Britten, symphony No.1, No.2, No.4 & No.7 of Mahler, symphony No.3organ symphonyof Saint Saens, the firebird suite of Stravinsky, Oratorio Messiah of Handel, pictures at an exhibition of Mussorgskydante symphony of Liszet, piano concerto No.6 & Symphony No4, No.6Pastorale,No.7,No.9(choral) of Beethoven, The War Symphony (symphnoy No7,8,9), Violin Concerto No.1 of Shostakovich, Concerto for orchestra & violin concerto No 2 of Bartok, Hary Janos Suite of Kodaly, Manfred of Tchaikovsky, Scottish Fantasy of Bruch, Symphony No.3 (Scottish)of Mendelssohn, Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by CarI Maria von Weber of Hindemith, Der Ring des Nibelungen of Wagner, Ein Heldenleben of Richard Strauss, Symphony No.1 of Scriabin, Violin Concerto of Glazunov, Piano Concerto No.3 & Symphony No.3 & No.5 of Rachmaninoff and numerous other master pieces.

 

Besides the symphony concerts, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has made appearance in operas and ballets to extend its artistic range. The SPO has produced and also performed operas such as Tosca, Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, Tea, The Barber of Siville, Duke Bluebeard’s Castle, Pelleas and Melisande and so on. Furthermore, the orchestra has also cooperated with several of the world’s top ballet troupes in Shanghai, such as the Royal Ballet, Ballet de L’Opera National de Paris, Ballet of Opemhaus, Ballet of Maryinsky Theatre, the Australian National Ballet, and the Royal Ballet of Flanders in productions of Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Gisele, Nutcracker, Coppelia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, Romeo and Julliet and so on.

 

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has made great efforts to broaden the style and content for the performance so as to meet the diverse and growing cultural needs of the audience. The SPO has produced a large range of performance such as symphonic concert of traditional Chinese operas(Peking Opera of Tang Concubines, Shaoxing Opera of The Dream of Red Mansions and etc), The variety of concerts shows the powerful strength of the SPO and also is well popular with the audience.


The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra pays much attention to the composition of Chinese music, especially for symphony works. The SPO not only do the world premiere for the music of different generation of Chinese composers such as Qiming LvShuya XuGanru GeGuohui YeYuan LiuQiang WangYi Qin, but also hold several concerts for the composers such as Qiming Lv, Zhun Huang,Liqing Yang,Qigang Chen, Tan DunLong Zhou,Yi Chen, Fuzai Jin,Ganru Ge Zurong Guo and Peng-peng Gong.The SPO spare no effort to promote and spread abroad the Chinese music composition.

 

The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has attended many international music festivals and activities. In 2005, it went to Singapore, before touring Taiwan in 2006. Its concerts at China’s National Grand Theater during the Week of the Organ in 2008 also helped it win extensive recognition. In 2009, the orchestra toured Australia for the Friendly Week of “Queensland-Shanghai”. In 2010, it successfully assisted touring concerts in Switzerland, Slovakia, and Hungary. In 2014,it went toTaiwan for three successful concerts.In august of 2016,it went to Suwon & Busan of Korea. The SPO won wide praise and was acclaimed as one of the Asian orchestras with the greatest potential.

 

Dedicated to symphony promotion, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has organized a variety of activities including “Neighborhood Concert” and “School Concert”. The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra has become the strategic partner with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Shanghai Oriental Art Center for further cooperation.The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra is endeavoring to make itself an all-round and widely influential orchestra, offering further contributions to the development and prosperity of China’s symphony field.
